In this tall grass are
lots of wildlife. Do you
see any? If not, we
better head to where
there's shorter grass!

The tall dry grass has
been burnt here, and
new green grass has
begun to grow.

Two ostriches.
I want to see one
run as they can go
up to 44mph!

A topi in the foreground,
and a herd of elands in
the background. Elands
are Africa's largest
antelope, and they are
very shy. This is the
only picture I got of
them as they would take
off when they see you!

A topi standing on
a termite mound. He's
the lookout. He's
watching for hyenas and
lions, as these predators
like the taste of topi meat.

A pack of hyenas.
The topi does have
a reason to worry!

A pride of four lions.
Another reason for the
topi to be concerned!

This lion isn't very
old. Maybe he just
took over this pride.
If he did, then he
would have killed all
the cubs to send the
females into estrus.

They look very relaxed
but alert. They're scoping
out all the many herds
of wildlife to chose what
to have for dinner!

Did you know that they
will follow vultures to
kills? What other animals
do they scavenge
from? Check "Animal
Facts" to find out.

Lions breed two to
three times per hour
for two to six days.
Each encounter lasts
less than a minute.

A lone wildebeest.
They are nomadic grazers
that constantly move
in search of short
green grass and water.

The wildebeest is watching
two topis butt heads.

Another lion looking
at all her wildlife
choices atop this big hill.
