Anchorage resident Larry R. Boyd, 38, died April 7, 2006, at Alaska Regional Hospital.

No service is planned.

Mr. Boyd was born March 3, 1968, in Mt. Clemens, Mich., to John "Jack" and Karen Boyd. He moved to Alaska in 1982 and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1986. He worked as an apprentice electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 1547.

He enjoyed family gatherings, sports, snowmobiling and fishing.

His family wrote, "The old adage about man's best friend being his dog was so true for Larry and his best friend, Yoda, his Chihuahua-terrier mix. Larry will truly be missed."

Mr. Boyd is survived by his parents, John "Jack" and Karen Boyd of Anchorage; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Natalie Boyd; nieces, Sydney and Cameron Boyd, all of Katy, Texas; and relatives in California and Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
