Hello BHS Class of 1986!

Some really exciting activities have been planned as "extras" to the reunion! Make sure to check out the web site under "Extra Events" for a full description of these activities.

For some of these activities, I need to get a good "headcount" to make accurate reservations. Therefore, please find on the web site the new "Extra Event Form" that you can fill out on-line to RSVP the activities you're interested in.

Deadline: June 1st, 2006

I need to know right away who is interested in the Seward Trip as fishing charters and lodging are filling up quickly. A sample itinerary is listed on the web site. Please contact me ASAP if you're planning this excursion.

A Golf Scramble has been planned on Friday at 12:30pm at the Anchorage Golf Course. Please contact Mike Fetko directly to reserve your spot: (907) 349-6618; mikefetkojr@yahoo.com

The Tour of BHS has been moved to Saturday at 12:00pm which will be lead by Principal Mary McKean. It will be fun to roam the halls after 20 years!

On Monday, lots of very exciting activities have been planned. At 10:00am, let's take the Anchorage Trolley City Tour as a group. A great way to see the town!

Next a bicycle trip has been planned down the ten-mile long paved Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.
It follows the shoreline from downtown Anchorage to Kincaid Park. For those who don't have bicycles, I got us a really good deal at Downtown Bicycle Rental (where we'll be meeting). For those who rent from him, he's included a free bottle of water and an ice cream to whoever makes it to Kincaid Park and back. Now that's great motivation!

For those who don't want to participate in the bike trip, discounted tickets can be bought at the Alaska Experience Theater and Anchorage Museum of History & Art. You could also take the self-guided walking tour through historic downtown Anchorage.

On Tuesday, consider celebrating the 4th of July "Alaskan style" by participating in all of Anchorage's activities. There will be a pancake breakfast and Veteran's parade followed by the community parade and cycle racers from the National Veteran's Wheelchair Games. See the finish of the Sadler's Ultra Challenge. In the afternoon, watch as the Declaration of Independence is read, and enjoy a family picnic on the Park Strip where food, music, and entertainment will be happening!

I hope you'll join us on some or all of these extra activities! Let me know your interests by filling out the "Extra Event Form".

Take care,
Dawn Dalton (Houghtaling)
